OUR PROCESS

Have some ideas and not sure how to put them all together?  A landscape consultation with Gardens by Design can get you started in the right direction.  Along with reference books and our portfolio of project photos, we will ask a series of questions to find out more about your landscape requirements. For many clients, a consultation provides enough information to feel confident to proceed with a project. From there, we can provide a cost estimate and timeline for the desired project. A consultation usually takes 1-2 hours to complete.

Sometimes a full landscape design is required.  For this service we start with a meeting at your home to go through a more detailed series of questions related to your landscape requirements such as uses of your landscape, budget,  materials available, and plant material requirements.  During this meeting we will require a property plan or plot plan.  Within a week we will call to meet again for the client to review a concept plan of your landscape.   This will be a preliminary plan with hardscape and softscape areas laid out.  At this time changes can be made if required.  From this point your design will be created complete with all landscape features and plants placed in proper locations.  When we meet again a scaled landscape plan will be presented along with a detailed cost estimate of the project.  We can also go over the payment schedule and contract at this meeting and fit your project into our schedule.
